The Globecon Institute certificates are awarded after passing each of the required online assessments and one or more of the instructor-facilitated exercises and/or case studies that demonstrate the participant's mastery of the subject matter in the particular certification program.
What certifications does Globecon offer?
For professionals who are new to their field, Globecon Institute offers a four-module basic level certification, The Foundations of Finance. The four areas include: Foundations of Financial Institutions , Foundations in Risk Management, Foundations in Capital Markets, and Foundations in Corporate Finance.
This core-level program is designed to provide professionals with a solid understanding of the functions and roles played by modern Financial Institutions and their key lines of business, as well as foundational knowledge of the industry's basic products and service functions.
Although the main focus is on the business units and related support areas that drive financial institution revenues and profits, the program also provides an overview of the effects that regional, national, and global macroeconomic conditions and industry trends have on the strategic and operational behavior of the institution. In addition, the program covers the impact of the current regulatory environment on Financial Institutions .
Note that the Foundations of Finance Certification must be earned prior to Enrolling for all other Globecon Institute Certifications.
Tools of the Trade
Advanced certificates, or "Tools of the Trade," include a number of specific certifications within the areas of Capital Markets, Credit, Treasury, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Wealth Management.
To Enroll in any of the advanced certifications, the Tools of the Trade, you must have completed The Foundations in Finance Certificate and demonstrate a requisite work history.
Do I need relevant work experience to qualify for a Globecon certification?
For The Foundations of Finance Certificate, it is expected that candidates will be new or newer to their field. Thus, no prior work experience is required for this certification; however, each candidate must be presently employed with a bank or other financial institution or be somehow otherwise involved in these fields.
All other certifications, which comprise the Tools of the Trade, require extensive prior work experience in a relevant field. The general requirement is 60 months within the past 7 years, and applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, for example, a Ph.D. in Finance plus three years relevant work experience may qualify one's candidacy in the Globecon Institute.

How soon can I expect a response from Globecon once I have submitted my application for certification?
Upon receipt of your application to qualify as a certification candidate, Globecon Institute's officers will review all applications, whether submitted by a candidate or a candidate's employer, and respond via email within 14 business days. |
